Q) Do the pegs get hot in the sun?
A) Nope! No burnt fingers here 🙅🏻♂️. The wire is just the right thickness so it doesn't hold the heat, our pegs get warm at most - even on the hottest Aussie summer days (we've tested them at 46⁰ in the Adelaide sun!)
Q) Will they rust?
A) Our stainless steel pegs are highly resistant to rust. By following the care instructions that are included with every bag, you should not see any rust appearing on your pegs.
Q) Will they last forever?
A) It depends what grade you get and if you live in a high salt environment like near the beach. See the Our Pegs page to determine the right grade for you, but, generally speaking you should get decades of use out of your pegs, particularly the 316 grade which should last your lifetime.
Q) Is your packaging Eco Friendly?
A) Extremely! We did our very best to ensure our packaging would be as low impact as possible. We have chosen 100% natural Jute for the peg bags (including the drawstring cord) which makes them biodegradable and compostable. The ink is water based and also safe for composting. See more about the wonderful benefits of Jute and why we chose it on the Our Packaging page.
Q) What about shipping?
A) Sendle is our shipping method of choice due to their service, speed, cost and most importantly because every delivery is 100% carbon neutral. We pack in compostable satchels or boxes and use paper tape to seal them – no sticky tape. When we can’t use Sendle due to the addressee being outside the delivery network, we use Australia Post.
On rare occasions such as if we need to use the Express Post service through Australia Post, we may need to use a prepaid plastic satchel which can be recycled through the RedCycle initiative. This is a rare occurrence and something we try to avoid wherever possible.
